The overall objective of the project is to strive for a greater introduction of measures to strengthen gender equality and the empowerment of women in the financing for development process.
The specific objectives are:
- Evaluate aid flows from a gender perspective in the six selected countries (Cambodia, Guatemala, Morocco, Mozambique, Peru and Viet Nam)
- Initiate and strengthen political dialogue at national level in donor and aid receiving countries on aid effectiveness with a gender perspective
- Strengthen capacities of key actors and stakeholders to monitor aid flows and their impact with a gender perspective
Among the expected project’s results are:
- a participatory methodology for evaluating aid flows from a gender perspective;
- a participatory evaluation report on aid effectiveness from a gender perspective in selected countries;
- a systematization of good practices;
- the organization of several capacity building and knowledge sharing workshops at national level to promote articulation of civil society; and
- the promotion of political dialogue between key actors on aid effectiveness for gender equality.
Among the activities planned to be carried out are:
- Evaluating aid flows from a gender perspective in the selected countries
- Developing tools and guides for training and capacity building
- Strengthening capacities of key actors in aid efficiency and gender
- Increasing knowledge on Aid Effectiveness from a gender perspective to improve the dissemination of information to key actors
- Promoting political dialogue at national level in both donor and aid receiving countries about the effectiveness of aid from a gender perspective
- Compiling information and resources for use in advocacy efforts
- Coordinating virtual dialogues on topics such as best practices and lessons learned
- Supporting the creation of virtual platforms t o articulate civil society‘s contribution
