The tool entitled “Implementing the Women, Peace and Security Resolutions in Security Sector Reform” is the latest addition to the Gender and SSR Toolkit, which has been developed by UN-INSTRAW, the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The tool analyses the implications of the four United Nations Security Council Resolutions (SCR’s) on women, peace and security for Security Sector Reform (SSR). It shares experiences and good practices in implementation of the resolutions in national security policy-making, SSR processes and in the military, police and justice sectors.
This tool also highlights how international and regional organisations have supported implementation of the resolutions in the above mentioned areas.
