The 20th of September UN-INSTRAW Gender, Peace and Security Programme facilitated together with the UNDP BCPR (Bureau for Conflict Prevention and Recovery) Senior Gender Advisor and gender team two simultaneous workshops for UNDP BCPR headquarter offices in New York and Geneva on gender mainstreaming.

UN-INSTRAW has launched on 31 August 2007 its new web resource on Gender Training for Peacekeepers. The interactive resource fills a gap in the documentation of gender training opportunities for peacekeepers and aims to facilitate gender mainstreaming in peacekeeping operations.

The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and UN-INSTRAW have agreed on a project for carrying out new research to produce reform tools and documents which will be developed into a ‘Gender and Security Sector Reform (SSR) Toolkit’.
