Study on Gender, Remittances and Development in Italy-Philippines |

The preliminary research study from the UN-INSTRAW project on “The Gender Dimensions of Remittances: Their Flow, Uses and Development Impacts,” financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) was discussed in a meeting on 23 September 2007 in Rome, Italy.
During the meeting, representatives from the Rome-based Filipino Women’s Council (FWC), IFAD, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UN-INSTRAW discussed the initial results of the study and identified potential capacity-building initiatives for Filipino women’s associations. The Final Report of the Project will be launched in January 2008.
