The organizers of the international conference: “A World in Transition. Feminist Perspectives on International Relations” (May, 1996 at Lund University, Sweden), have issued a Call for Papers for the international conference: “The War Question for Feminism,” which is being organized by the new Institute of Thematic Gender Studies at Linköping University and Örebro University in Sweden.

UNESCO’s global operation to promote gender equality in the media was launched for the eighth consecutive year on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2008. Women’s Untold Stories has been chosen as the theme for Women Make the News 2008, in order to raise media managers’ awareness of female journalists’ and editors’ professional abilities with the objective of improving their career development opportunities in the newsroom and establishing gender equality.

The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice is currently accepting applications for its Women PeaceMakers Program (WPM), designed for leaders from conflict-affected countries worldwide who work to transform conflict and to assure the inclusion of gender issues in post-conflict recovery through human rights advocacy and peace-building efforts.
