On 2 October 2008, the Executive Board of UN-INSTRAW looked at the progress made by the Institute in the implementation of its Programme of Work for 2008, in addition to other issues related to strengthening the long-term financial sustainability of UN-INSTRAW.

The UN-INSTRAW Gender Training Community of Practice (CoP) seeks to articulate gender training practitioners and experts together with specialists in gender equality, gender mainstreaming, knowledge management and capacity development to exchange experiences and knowledge in order to improve the effectiveness of gender training.

Estas son algunos de los temas que se discutieron durante el III Foro Interamericano de Mujeres contra la Corrupción que se llevó a cabo del 29 de septiembre al 1º de octubre 2008 en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina).

The International Conference on Gender, Migration and Development: Seizing Opportunities, Upholding Rights (September 25-26, Manila) will examine women’s participation in migratory flows and their crucial contribution to development through the sending, receipt and management of remittances. The conference aims to identify paths to enhance the positive aspects of migration and mitigate the negative effects, as well as promote greater gender equality in both sending and receiving countries.
