Cindy Hanson is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of PEI in Canada.  Her doctoral research focused on the facilitation and pedagogical practices of activist-trainers working in women’s rights and gender equality. She has worked as a trainer, researcher and evaluator for equality-seeking groups, universities, governments, NGOs, municipalities and as an adult educator and extension and outreach specialist. In all of her work she engages in using participatory methodologies that advocate social inclusion and participation. She has worked in countries straddling Asia, Africa, and Latin America delivering training and gender mainstreaming  support and advice.  In addition to international work, Cindy has lectured at the University of Saskatchewan in courses such as Gender and Education, and Women, Gender and Development. She is currently working on training materials for UNFPA on integrated approaches to programme planning. She has also published work on gender training.
