In order to ensure the right to security for women, men, girls and boys, as well as to create a just, democratic and effective security sector, it is essential that gender be analysed, addressed and mainstreamed into all Security Sector Reform (SSR) initiatives. The Gender and SSR Network brings together over 150 participants from around the world in a list-serve based discussion, which aims to create a dynamic forum for information-sharing and collaboration between gender and SSR practitioners, policy-makers and academics.
