UN-INSTRAW and the Regional Training Programme on Gender and Public Policies (PRIGEPP), at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Argentina, will initiate a Virtual Expert Round Table for specialists with the objective of discussing the situation of gender-sensitive public policies in Latin America from 17 to 24 November 2008.

UN-INSTRAW presented the results of its project ’’Pathways to Learning in Central America’’ at the international conference Alternative Practices in Citizenship Learning and Participatory Democracy held at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto (OISE/UT) in Canada.

From 3 to 21 November 2008, UN-INSTRAW will be hosting the Virtual Discussion "Creating Gender-Sensitive Migration Policy: Best Practices and Lessons Learned." The discussion will bring together policy-makers, government officials, financial experts, academics, and representatives from international organizations and NGOs to discuss how migration policy can promote development and the advancement of women.
