The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) and Tibotec (Tibotec Pharmaceuticals Limited) invite you to the pre-conference session entitled Women in HIV Trials: Building Bridges in Clinical and Social Science Research, to be held on 2 August 2008, at the XVII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City.

This pre-conference will gather leading researchers to debate on their experience with prevention and treatment trials and the solutions that have been identified to integrate women into HIV trials.

At this session participants will join guest speakers in developing actions to bridge the social and clinical science toward improving clinical trials. Other key questions will be debated related to sexual and reproductive health services, the use of social and clinical sciences towards women’s participation in trial regimes and requirements, how prevention technologies and treatment regimes affect women and what can be learned from the efforts to integrate women in prevention and other HIV trials.
