Este Espacio adopta y asume la necesidad de consolidar un puente entre la excelencia académica de sus investigaciones y la incidencia social de sus propuestas (conocimiento, proposición e intervención) con una marcada intencionalidad a trabajar por la mejora en la visibilidad y representatividad del migrante como sujeto social, y en sus condiciones objetivas de vida. Partimos de la premisa que debe existir un necesario círculo virtuoso entre academia, interacción e incidencia: es imprescindible que la intervención social esté basada en la teoría y sustentada por la experiencia del investigador en el campo de estudios. Creemos pertinente de esta forma conectar la “explicación teórica” con su “incidencia social”, rompiendo el muro que separa pensamiento y práctica, colaborando en un proceso dinámico y social de desarrollo de herramientas concretas. El desarrollo de la investigación científica, la formación de investigadores y profesionales, y la construcción y transferencia de conocimiento a través de la práctica, deben estar orientados a la incubación de políticas públicas capaces de construir fuertes pilares democráticos, tendientes a la protección de los derechos de todos los habitantes, sean naciones o migrantes.
