OSCE/OCEEA/Economic Governance Unit Migration is part of the comprehensive security approach of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) as has been recognized already in the Helsinki Final Act (1975). Since the 2005 Slovenian OSCE Chairmanship, migration has been introduced into the activities of the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA), where it is being addressed from an economic and environmental perspective.Migration management and security issues continued being a priority in the second dimension under the 2009 Greek OSCE Chairmanship as "Migration management and its linkages with economic, social and environmental policies to the benefit of stability and security in the OSCE region" was selected as the theme for the 17th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum by the participating states.
Recently there have been published following guides and handbooks:
- Handbook on Labour Migration

Annie J. Goolsby I am enthusiastic about the new organization group recently formed called UN Women. Perhaps it will provide a link to aid me and other women in my situation who is suffering from unfair treatment in obtaining employment. I am highly educated and should be an administrator, but because of the color of my skin--am refused to right to obtain the job that I am trained to do. That is an an Educational Administrator. The public schools in this area of the United States is exhibiting discriminatory hiring practices although they have contrived "reasons" why highly educated minorities especially African Americans can not get these jobs. The main reason is that they claim there is no money in the budget to hire. That is why I am appealing to the United Nations. The school administrators here always claim they have no money in the budget to hire professional college educated people for the jobs they are trained to do. This government is bankrupt so must all the people of this country be bankrupt too? No. There are leaders who can make the best of a limited budget. There are administrators who can and will follow the laws and mandates of the country and Constitution by being fair in hiring. Since I am highly trained but unemployed my only recourse it to appeal to an International Organization to employ me. If I have a job whereby, I would be able to pay back college loans and other obligations it would help the country's indebtedness. Also, I am a consumer and always has been, so if I am employed I would help the economy by being who I am.
