The World Bank's Global Development Marketplace (DM) for 2007 focuses on
Health, Nutrition and Population

DM2007 is offering US$4 Million in awards for proposals with innovative
ideas to improve health, nutrition,
population outcomes of poor people in developing countries.

2007 Development Marketplace Global Competition: Improving Results in
Health, Nutrition and Population for the Poor!

Proposal Deadline: November 17, 2006

Finalists Announced: February 9, 2007

Marketplace and Knowledge Exchange in Washington, D.C.: May 22-23, 2007

DM seeks to recognize initiatives that use:

   Innovative mechanisms to reach vulnerable groups,

   Public-private partnerships to improve delivery of health goods and
services,

   Innovative inter-sectoral linkages for illness/disease/injury prevention
(such as improving water supply, sanitation services, indoor air pollution,
roads, etc.),

   Cost-effective approaches and technologies that build local capacity to
gather and use information on health, nutrition, and population in
developing countries.

DM is a World Bank program that identifies and funds small-scale, creative
development projects that deliver results and have the potential to be
expanded or replicated.

The global DM is open to all: individuals, non-governmental organizations,
civil society organizations, academia, foundations and development agencies,
including World Bank Group staff. Visit the DM website for competition
