'Joining Hands: Integrating Gender and HIV/AIDS' - this new report, just
published by ACORD - tells the story of how Stepping Stones has been
successfully applied in a wide range of contexts - from the Armed Forces in
Angola, to the Mucubai pastoralists, also in Angola, to the camps for the
internally displaced in Northern Uganda and the peri-urban fishing
communities around Lake Victoria, Tanzania.

Is Stepping Stones an effective tool for transforming gender relations? And
can gender transformation help to reduce HIV/AIDS vulnerability? These are
among the key questions, which the ACORD project set out to examine. As well
as the vivid examples of how people's lives and relationships are affected,
the project report provides practical implementation tips and detailed
action points for policy-makers, practitioners and the donor community.

The report, available in English, French and Portuguese, can be downloaded
from ACORD's website: www.acord.org.uk
