This 2-day workshop will introduce participants to the principles, goals and techniques for monitoring human rights. Emphasis during the training will be on techniques for documenting and on monitoring closed institutions and gender-based violence. Main trainers of this training workshop are Krassimir Kanev (member of the Executive Committee of the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights and Executive Director of the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee), Indai Sajor (co-convenor of the Women's International War Crimes Tribunal for the Trial of Japanese Military Sexual Slavery, 1998-2001, author of Common Grounds: Violence Against Women in War and Armed Conflicts and former Executive Director of Women's Caucus for Gender Justice), and Bert Verstappen (HURIDOCS). |

US$ 135. This fee includes various materials and beverages during the coffee and tea breaks (but not the lunch and dinner on Thursday). US$ 100 for alumni of HREA courses.
